POSITION: Part-Time Grant Funded My Brother’s Keeper Student Services Liaison

SALARY: Grant Funded $25.00 Per Hour

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
(A) Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree; or
(B) Four (4) years of experience as a Teacher Aide, Social Work Assistant, or similar position
involving direct interaction with children; or
(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as described in (A) and (B) above

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incumbents in this title may perform some or all of the following, as well as other related activities not described.
(1) Teach and instruct My Brother’s Keeper students on life skills, communication skills, and the character education;
(2) Supervise and engage students at all times to ensure safety, conduct compliance, and participation;
(3) Participate in collaborative team meetings with My Brother’s Keeper staff to brainstorm strategies for engagement;
(4) Develop effective and creative engagement strategies for families, along with facilitating parental outreach activities on a regular basis; including but not limited to family event planning, home visits, phone calls, texting, email, social media, transportation coordination etc;
(5) Maintain My Brother’s Keeper Program attendance records, and parental communication log using electronic spreadsheet, and other documentation to show evidence of student progress3;
(6) Mediate peer conflict as needed throughout MBK program activities;
(7) Facilitate individual and organized group discussions with the My Brother’s Keeper students;
(8) Create engaging and hands on activities for the youth to work in small groups or large groups, depending on group dynamics ;
(9) Assist in the day-today tasks needed to keep program running smoothly.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Incumbents must be available to work in the afternoons and/or evenings and/or weekends.
