DESCRIPTION 

The Monticello Central School District is seeking a full-time high school science teacher for a vacancy. 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Preparing students for the Living Environment Regents Exam
  • Working with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Curriculum planning using project-based learning
  • Incorporating authentic assessments into one’s teaching
  • Designing lessons that challenge and support all students
  • Using strong classroom management skills that respond to a student’s individual experience, background, and needs
  • Flexibility in strategies to improve student attendance

The Monticello Central School District is in Sullivan County, NY, and is centrally located between New York City, Albany, and the Pocono Mountain region.  This provides a rare combination to live in a rural setting and still be close to major metropolitan areas for recreation and work.  Monticello is the largest of the eight county school districts with multicultural enrollment of approximately 2,700 students.
